Direct Newcastle to Newquay route resumes for the summer season

Loganair, the UK's largest regional airline, is celebrating the return of summer flights between two of its key destinations, Newcastle and Newquay.

Twice weekly flights, on Wednesdays and Saturdays, have now resumed and will operate throughout the summer season until the end of October this year.

With a flying time of around 80 minutes, it is the only direct flight between the two cities, offering customers a fast and convenient way to travel between the northeast and southwest.

Operated by an Embraer 145, the favourable flight times of 14:10 on Wednesdays and 17:00 on Saturdays from Newcastle and 16.05 on Wednesdays and 18.55 on Saturdays from Newquay allows customers time to enjoy an extended break on both sides.

Customers travelling south to Newquay can enjoy time spent on the region's renowned white sandy beaches and navigating its stunning coastlines. While Newcastle welcomes those travelling north to enjoy its vibrant cultural scene, with numerous theatres, art galleries, and music venues to explore.

Luke Lovegrove, Chief Commercial Officer, Loganair, said:

“Regional connectivity is so important, and we're excited to once again offer travellers the convenience and efficiency of a direct route between these two must-visit destinations.”

Leon McQuaid, Director of Aviation at Newcastle Airport, said:

"The route between Newcastle and Newquay has always been popular. It serves the North East travelling public who are looking for a sunshine break within the UK, and equally passengers from Cornwall and the surrounding areas who are looking to visit the North East region for a scenic city break. The twice-weekly flight allows for flexible stay lengths, and Loganair's generous baggage allowance ensures passengers can take everything they need for their trip without any extra expense."

In addition to Newquay, Loganair also offers a variety of choices to more destinations across the UK and Europe, including a five-times weekly service to Exeter, a daily service to Southampton, three times weekly connection with Stavanger and two times weekly flight to Bergen in Norway.
