Loganair, the UK's leading regional airline, has celebrated the successful launch of its new direct service between Jersey and Bordeaux, connecting the island to the UNESCO-listed wine capital for the first time.

The first flight took off on Friday 19 June, the fourth new route Loganair has launched from Jersey this summer, as part of a wider expansion of services from the island connecting Jersey to East Midlands, Paris and Norwich.

The new seasonal route operates on Mondays and Fridays, running through to 5 October 2026. Fares start from £86 one-way.

Bordeaux Airport provides flights to over 82 destinations across 27 countries, offering connections across Europe and beyond.

Ronnie Matheson, chief commercial officer at Loganair, said:

Loganair is committed to supporting all our island communities, and this latest expansion marks the fourth route launched from Jersey this summer. These direct services provide more choice for islanders while representing an opportunity for Jersey to reach new markets, further supporting the visitor economy.

Dale Reeson, managing director at Jersey Airport, said:

It’s exciting to see new direct flights to Bordeaux commence, this combined with the recent launch of Paris services, means there are now five Loganair flights a week connecting Jersey with France. This enhanced connectivity with Europe not only strengthens travel options for residents but also creates a valuable new gateway for visitors to discover everything our island has to offer.

Simon Dreschel, chief executive of Bordeaux Airport, said:

The launch of this service to Jersey and the arrival of a new airline at Bordeaux Airport further strengthen the diversity of our offering. This route creates a new opportunity to connect with English-speaking visitors who are particularly fond of our region.

Customers flying with Loganair benefit from a 21kg baggage allowance included as standard and can also collect Avios through the airline's loyalty programme.

Loganair was named the most punctual major airline for UK arrivals and departures in 2025 (January to September) by the UK Civil Aviation Authority, with 81% of its flights arriving and departing on time, significantly above the industry average of 72%.
