Travelling with Pets

Airport Specific Restrictions:

LCY: Pets are unable to travel to/from London City Airport
LDY: Travelling to City of Derry Airport with dogs, cats, ferrets, or assistance dogs requires an Import Authorisation (licence) from the Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs; passengers must apply themselves around 10 days before travel.
JER: Dogs travelling to/from Jersey Airport must remain in a travel crate while inside the terminal. Dogs must have a muzzle fitted during Security screening.
- Please note, muzzles are the responsibility of the pet owner

Pets are welcome on Loganair’s domestic flights, except on routes operated by the Twin Otter aircraft to Barra, Tiree, and Campbeltown.

For confirmation on which aircraft operates your service, please contact our Help Centre. Pets will always travel in the hold, unless they are assistance dogs. Puppies must be at least 12 weeks old to travel.

Cats and Dogs

Cats and dogs may be carried as accompanied baggage. The pet checks in with you at the passenger terminal and re-joins you on arrival in the baggage hall at the destination airport. You are responsible for putting your pet in a suitably approved container.

The charge for a pet carriage is £50 one-way.

To carry your pet, we must ask you to complete this form at the airport and handed to our agents when your pet is accepted.

Assistance Animals

There are different rules for those travelling with trained assistance animals.

Orkney Inter-Isles

Loganair can accept cats & dogs and other small pets on board our Orkney Inter-Isles services.

The following process applies:

The pet must travel in a suitable IATA-approved container.
Passengers travelling with small animals must give Loganair advance notice of plans to travel with pets*.
There is a fixed fee of £10 per flight for Orkney Inter-Isles flights.
- Note: A £50 per flight fee applies to all other Loganair services
A pet disclaimer form must be completed and returned before departure.

*This travel is subject to prior approval and consideration will be made to the number of animals which can travel on any given flight.
