Loganair celebrates 200,000 customer milestone at Benbecula Airport

28 May 2025 Loganair, the UK’s leading regional airline, is celebrating a key milestone at Benbecula Airport, having now carried more than 200,000 customers on its flights from the airport.

The achievement highlights the ongoing importance of regional connectivity for the Outer Hebrides, where flights provide a vital link between island communities and the Scottish mainland.

To mark the milestone, Loganair surprised Shona Currie, 38, from the Isle of North Uist, with complimentary flight vouchers ahead of her journey to Wales to visit The Dreaming, Charlotte Church’s retreat space.

Shona, who frequently flies with Loganair either solo or with her family, first began using the service at 17 while commuting between the islands and London. She now uses the airline to reach essential amenities, access further travel connections, and visit friends.

She said:

I use the Benbecula service because it’s the quickest and most convenient way to reach the mainland. Having grown up here, it’s been a lifeline at different stages of my life, from studying and working in London to now living back in North Uist with my family.
I’m thrilled to have received the voucher and will be putting it to good use on a spa weekend with friends in June. Thank you for continuing to provide this valuable service. It makes a real difference for island communities like ours.

Luke Lovegrove, chief commercial officer at Loganair, said:

Reaching 200,000 customers through Benbecula is a proud moment for our team and for the airport. The lifeline nature of our services in the Outer Hebrides cannot be overstated - they underpin daily life for residents and help maintain vital social and economic links.
Milestones like this are about more than numbers - they represent the people and stories behind every journey and unique experience like Shona’s, and it’s a pleasure to recognise her as part of this one.

Customers travelling with Loganair from Benbecula benefit from a 21 kg luggage allowance as standard, along with convenient onward connections across the UK through the airline’s network and partner airlines.

Following Loganair’s recent partnership with the global travel rewards programme, customers can also collect Avios on their journeys.

Earlier this year, Loganair was ranked second in Which?’s annual customer survey of short-haul airlines, with a 72% customer score. The airline received five stars for customer service and four stars for booking, boarding, and cleanliness.

Flights can be booked at loganair.co.uk or through local travel agents.
