The special departure was marked with a photo call featuring the Isle of Man athletes alongside His Excellency Lieutenant Governor Sir John Lorimer, Isle of Man Games organiser Gary Jakeman, Mann Link Travel’s Brian and Jordan Kelly, and Loganair cabin crew.
This charter flight is one of two flights taking over 120 passengers from the island to Kirkwall on Friday and Saturday.
Luke Farajallah, chief executive officer at Loganair, said:
The Island Games are a significant celebration of sport and community, and we’re pleased to support the athletes, supporters and families travelling to Orkney.
This event brings people together from across the islands, creating lasting memories, building new connections, and highlighting everything Orkney and the competing islands have to offer on an international stage.
It’s an opportunity to showcase the strength of island communities, and we recognise the effort and commitment involved in making the Games happen. Supporting this event is one way we can contribute to something that holds meaning for the people who live and work in island communities.
Loganair is the Official Airline Partner for the Orkney 2025 Island Games and has confirmed it will operate 32 additional scheduled services to and from Kirkwall, transporting around 1,500 passengers throughout the Games.
The Orkney 2025 Games, taking place from 12 to 18 July 2025, will mark the 20th iteration of the International Island Games, bringing together athletes from 24 island communities to compete across 12 sports.
Flying all over Scotland and the UK.
