Travelling with infants

Infants under 2 years old who are seated on a parent's lap do not require airfare, though taxes may apply at certain airports served by Loganair.

Infants aged 6 months to under 2 years may travel in an approved forward-facing car seat, though a child fare will apply for the seat. Loganair does not provide car seats.

During take-off and landing, an adult must hold the infant, with only one infant allowed per adult.

Children aged 2-11 travelling with parents receive a discount on the fare (taxes/fees/charges are not discounted).

For luggage allowances for infants, please see here.

Children travelling solo

Loganair no longer permits unaccompanied minors to travel due to child welfare concerns. We understand this may cause some inconvenience, and we appreciate your understanding as we prioritize child safety.

To support parents or guardians, we will introduce a ‘drop off’ fare offering a reduced-cost same-day return ticket.

Youths travelling solo

Children aged 12 to 15 traveling alone will be booked as adults and will proceed through departure and arrival airports, and board flights without a chaperone. Loganair cannot assume responsibility for unaccompanied minors.

Parents/guardians should ensure the child carries necessary documentation and can communicate with both the parent/guardian and the person meeting them at the destination. We recommend the parent or guardian waits until the flight departs before leaving the airport.

Youth (12-15) pay the adult fare, and bookings should be made through Loganair’s call centre at 0344 800 2855.

Youth are exempt from paying the Air Passenger Duty, and Loganair offers Young Scot fares for 12-25-year-olds.
