At Loganair, the safety of all our passengers is our top priority.

Some customers may consider bringing their own seat belt extenders for comfort or convenience. However, personal seat belt extenders are not permitted on any Loganair flight.

If you have any concerns or require assistance with seating or onboard comfort before your flight, please get in touch with our Customer Help Centre.

Why Can’t I Use My Extender?
There are two key safety reasons behind this policy:
  • Safety Certification: Only airline-issued seat belt extenders meet the rigorous safety and certification standards required for use aboard commercial aircraft. Extenders purchased online or through third parties are not approved and cannot be guaranteed to function correctly in an emergency.
  • Emergency Exit Row Seating: When a passenger requests an extender from our crew, we can assess seat allocation, especially in critical areas like overwing exit rows. Bringing your extender bypasses this vital check, which could compromise safety protocols for passengers seated in emergency exit rows.
What Should I Do if I Need an Extender?

Our cabin crew is here to help. If you require a seat belt extender, inform a crew member after boarding. Our team will provide an aircraft-certified extender that complies with all safety regulations.

What happens if I do use my own equipment?

Passengers who attempt to use personal seat belt extenders will be asked to discontinue use and surrender the item to the crew for the duration of the flight. Additionally, non-certified safety equipment is not permitted under our Conditions of Carriage.

We kindly ask all passengers to respect this policy for the safety and comfort of everyone onboard.
