ADS: T&Cs

1. Overview

1.1 The Air Discount Scheme (ADS) provides discounted air fares for residents of Scotland's remotest communities, including students studying away from home. Eligible areas include the Western Isles, Orkney Isles, Shetland Isles, Colonsay, Islay, Jura, Caithness, and North West Sutherland.

1.2 Members of the ADS receive a 50% discount on core air fares on eligible routes.

1.3 Eligible routes include services between airports in the eligible areas or between eligible areas and Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Glasgow International, Inverness, or other airports served with a single through flight number. Public Service Obligation routes are not eligible for the ADS discount.

1.4 The Scottish Government reserves the right to terminate or alter the agreement at any time, with immediate effect.

2. The Discount

2.1 ADS members can purchase ADS fares on eligible routes, subject to the terms and conditions of participating airlines.

2.2 The Scottish Government is not responsible for the contract between members and airlines.

3. Conditions

3.1 Only those whose main residence is in an eligible area (including students) can apply to the ADS for membership.

3.2 Members under 16 can be included on a card if the applicant is the legal guardian, parent, or carer.

4. Changes

4.1 Any changes to personal details or dependants should be reported to the ADS Administration Team:

5. Payments

5.1 The ADS discount is applied to the core fare by participating airlines. Taxes, fees, charges, and surcharges are not eligible for the discount.

5.2 The ADS discount is applied at the time of booking by participating airlines.

6. Compliance and Misuse

6.1 Members should only book ADS fares for themselves or their dependants. Booking for non-members or allowing misuse of cards will be considered a violation.

6.2 Misuse will be treated as a material breach of terms and may lead to exclusion from the ADS. Any improperly received discounts may be recovered.

6.3 The ADS is not intended for business-related travel. Business travel claims are not reimbursed.

7. Data Protection

7.1 Participating airlines and approved travel agents have limited access to members' data to verify membership and process bookings.

7.2 Members consent to their information being used for the processing of applications, verification by airlines, and maintaining the Scheme.
