Luck of the draw for Orkney teen Andrew

An Orkney teenager landed it lucky on a Loganair flight today, winning two free tickets as part of the Airline’s St Andrew’s Day celebrations.

Andrew Norquay, a 16-year-old customer from Orkney, was picked by Loganair to receive two complimentary tickets in recognition of his name-sake and Patron Saint of Scotland’s national day.

Andrew, accompanied by his parents, Ingrid and Terence, and his sister Lia, were already on an exciting family journey on St Andrew’s Day, heading to New York, where Lia is dancing at a Christmas event in Times Square. The Norquay family's trip began in Kirkwall, travelling with Loganair to Aberdeen and onwards to Dublin. Loganair’s codeshare partner, British Airways, then facilitated their journey from Dublin, ultimately leading them to JFK International Airport.

Andrew said:

“When I found out I’d won the St Andrew’s Day tickets, I was really happy. It would be great to use them to take another family trip together soon.”

Ingrid Norquay, Andrew's mother, said:

“We are really grateful to Loganair for this gesture. Andrew winning the tickets has added an extra layer of joy to this trip, and we’re looking forward to exploring potential destinations for our next adventure."

Luke Lovegrove, Chief Commercial Officer at Loganair, said:

“We’re very proud of our Scottish heritage, so it's lovely to celebrate St Andrew’s Day with Andrew and his family. It's also great to see the codeshare partnership with BA making this trip even easier for our customers, with the connection from Dublin to New York.”

Loganair's service between Aberdeen and Dublin operates daily, offering convenient connectivity between the two vibrant cities. The connection from Dublin to JFK additionally provides customers with the advantage of US customs pre-clearance in Dublin, ensuring a seamless arrival in the United States.

Reservations can be made at loganair.co.uk or through travel agents and travel management companies using all major global distribution systems. All fares include a 15kg luggage allowance, discounts for children aged 11 and under and a mandatory carbon offset charge as part of the airline’s innovative GreenSkies sustainability programme.

Travel with Loganair’s codeshare partners can be booked via their websites or equally through the travel trade.
