Inverness twins met with special surprise on route to Manchester to reunite with dad

Loganair marks significant milestone for Inverness – Manchester route

14-year-old brother and sister Archie and Florrie Gray were ready to board their flight to visit their dad, Richard Gray, in Manchester when they were greeted with a special surprise at Inverness Airport.

The twins were notified by Donna McHugh, Head of Revenue and Sales at Loganair, that their booking had marked a key milestone of the 150,000th passenger on board Loganair's Inverness – Manchester service. Both siblings received a free flight to mark the occasion which they can now use for their next trip to visit dad Richard.

The service is an important one for Archie and Florrie, who are both from Inverness, as they fly with Loganair every second weekend to visit their dad in Manchester.

The free flight for the siblings comes as Loganair, the UK’s largest regional airline, celebrates the 150,000th passenger on board the Inverness – Manchester route since it launched the service under its own brand in 2017. The route enhances connectivity for the Highlands and northwest England for both leisure and business travel, with additional codeshare agreements offering Loganair passengers even more choice and convenience.

Richard Gray was delighted that his children Archie and Florrie were part of the celebrations. He commented:

"I know my children are in safe hands with Loganair every time they fly with them and I am absolutely over the moon that they're part of this celebration, memories that will last with them forever".

Inverness Airport general manager Graeme Bell, said:

“The Inverness Manchester route has proved to be immensely popular with passengers, linking the Highland capital with one of the great cities of England. It illustrates that demand for regular flights from trusted airline operators has been very resilient post-pandemic. We are pleased that Loganair continues to deliver this service to an incredibly high standard.”

Luke Lovegrove, Loganair’s Chief Commercial Officer, said:

"We pride ourselves on connecting communities across the length and breadth of the UK and, thanks to our growing range of airline partners, we enable customers worldwide connectivity which is true for this Inverness - Manchester route.

Reaching passenger milestones like this give us great reason to celebrate as we continue to build our network and who better to mark the occasion with than Archie and Florrie who are regular passengers on the service.”

Loganair operates ten flights per week between Inverness and Manchester. This includes a twice daily service Monday-Thursday and additional one-way services on Fridays and Sundays.

Customers can further benefit from Loganair’s codeshare agreements and book onward connections from destinations across the airline’s route network, or point to point travel in the UK more easily through its partner websites. For example, with British Airways, customers who book onto these selected routes operated by Loganair through ba.com can also earn Avios and Tier points as part of British Airways’ Executive Club programme.

Furthermore, from Manchester customers are able to connect onto British Airways’ code share flights on other carriers, including oneworld partners, from the north-west hub.
