At Loganair, we think everyone should be able to fly high in their careers and be confident that no matter what, they can reach their dream destination, wherever that may be, without prejudice and always feel supported.

We do recognise though that this journey is easier for some and harder than it should be for others.

That's why we'd like to show you what we are doing with our promise that we know we can always do it better.

To put it simply, we want to be...

"An airline in which we value difference, every voice is heard and everyone feels they are treated fairly and belong."

While we could address many, our people tell us three themes are the most important to them right now. That's why we are working together within Loganair and on external initiatives to serve both our customers and our own colleagues better in these areas.

  • LGBTQ+

We want our colleagues to bring their whole selves to work, that includes their orientation and gender identity - but to ensure our team can do just that we need to further develop a culture of openness, understanding and one free from prejudice. That's why we're supporting a number of initiatives that celebrate these differences.

  • Mental Heath & Wellbeing

At Loganair we're always striving to do better for our customers. Our drive to create an airline we all have pride in means our roles are often not without challenges. Coupled with pressures outside work, it's likely that at some time or another we won't feel ok... and we think that should be ok and that everyone can ask for help.

  • Equality for Women

Aviation has been synonymous with gender stereotypes and, in particular, the balance of those who identify as women has not always been right in certain roles. We were founded in the 1960's, so like many other airlines, this is not an issue we've been immune from. We can't change the past, but we can and should get better.

New Initiative Spotlight - Menopause

Often overlooked or understated in the past, we recognise that menopause is an important transitional stage in a person's life. Our policy is to make sure both our employees and our managers are equipped with the necessary tools and understanding to navigate this transition comfortably and confidently. We're proud to be leading positive change in this area for our people.

What We're Doing

Just some of the other things we're doing...

  • Loganair is proud to serve many remote regions that larger airlines can't. Whilst small in size, these communities often have a big spirit, and those living there have a strong sense of identity and belonging.

Furthermore, we do not merely believe the issue of inclusivity is limited to race, gender or accessibility, but also relates to the access to quality job opportunities at home.

Loganair employs 801 team members across the UK and the Isle of Man, with 116 aviation jobs supported within the Scottish Highlands and Islands.

  • We are signatories of the Armed Forces Covenant and received a Gold award under the Employer Recognition Scheme in 2023, having previously progressed from Bronze and Silver awards.

We promise that those who serve or have served in the armed forces will be treated fairly.

  • At Loganair, we strive to be inclusive and welcoming to applicants for every role across our company. We recognise and value diverse talents allowing our people to grow and develop in a fair working environment.

Loganair is an equal opportunities employer and positively encourages applications from suitably qualified and eligible candidates regardless of sex, race, disability, age, sexual orientation, religion or belief, marital status, disability, gender identity, military veteran status and all their characteristics, attributes or choices as protected by law. All recruitment and hiring decisions are based on applicants' skills and experience.

  • Inevitably in a complex supply chain that is required to deliver an airline operation, Loganair employs a number of third-party suppliers.

We are increasingly auditing these partners on their sustainability credentials and assessing for fair working practices.

  • All airport's Loganair service offer Passengers with Reduced Mobility a "PRM" Service.

This means all Loganair aircraft are accessible for all customers with varying levels of mobility.

Furthermore, Loganair works on behalf of the NHS to carry thousands of patients from island communities to the mainland every year. Therefore we particularly understand the importance of each individual's journey being equal.

    That's why:

    • At all Scottish Highlands and Island airports, we offer specialist AviRamp facilities whereby all passengers can embark and disembark our aircraft in the same way.
    • All other airport's we serve offer Ambulift or Stairclimber facilities as a minimum, but we're working hard to bring Aviramps to more airport's across the UK in the coming months.
  • Onboard our aircraft we permit trained assistance dogs, such as guide dogs - Find Out More
