Discounted fares

We understand that when you’re on a student budget, every penny counts. We also know it’s hard to plan around exam schedules, and that you might not know when you’re returning home. We therefore offer both one way and return Student fares, giving you greater flexibility.

The discounted fares are available specifically to students and youths (under 26).

Benefits for students

  • Student fares allow some flexibility without change fees or fare upgrades applying
  • Student fares offer a 2nd piece of luggage free of charge
  • Student fares are eligible for ADS*1 discount, even though you’re living off island during term time.

For students

  • Student fares are available to Students aged 12-25 inclusive who are enrolled in a full-time/vocational/technical/nurses training course at a college or university in the UK and are travelling between their home and educational establishment where they are studying.

    The student fare is also available to 12 - 25 year olds who are members of the young scot scheme. For more information visit www.youngscot.org

  • Applications for this fare must be supported by an official document from the educational establishment, a valid Young Scot card or a Student Union Card verifying eligibility.

    Therefore, the fares can only be booked via our call centre or select Travel Agents*.

  • Student fares are valid for travel between the airport closest to the student's home and the nearest airport to their place of education only.

  • Note that some lower-priced advance purchase fares are available online, so please compare the online fare to the Student fare before you decide.

    Bear in mind the lower-priced fares offer different travel flexibility.

  • One amendment may be made to either your one-way or return booking free of charge, subject to the same Student booking class availability on your amended itinerary.

  • Loganair permits one hold bag for all its Fly fares.

    However, for Students, two bags can be carried with a combined weight of up to 30 kg, subject to availability in the aircraft hold. Occasionally, your 2nd bag might not be carried but will be shipped on the next available flight.

    You will need to collect any short-shipped bags from the airport.

    • Student fares are non-refundable.
    • Student fares are subject to availability on the flight.
    • Student ID must be presented at the airport.
