Fly to Hannover

UNESCO city of music

Hannover was voted as the UNESCO city of music due to its creative music scene. Not only is the city where the record was invented, but the first cassette and CD were produced here too! Nowadays the city still lives up to its musical name with year-round music concerts of all genres. Did you know that The Scorpions are from Hannover?

Explore Hannover from above

The must-see is Hannover New Town Hall. It doesn’t take an architect to appreciate the magnificence of the building, from the ground and also above! The 100-meter high observation platform in the town hall is reached by the only parabolic lift in Europe that climbs in an angle along the shape of the dome.

3 Reasons to Fly to Hannover

  • The historic museums

  • Abundance of gardens

  • The food and drink scene

Follow the Red Thread Trail

A 4.5km route leading through the city to all the must-see landmarks. The self-guided tour starts at the tourist information centre and continues along walkways that are painted with a red line. But make sure you don't follow the trail with your eyes down as you will miss the historical sites such as Market Church and the Opera House.

Maschsee

You wouldn't think that you can yacht, canoe and pedal-boat in the middle of the city, but you can! The 78-hectare artificial lake of Maschsee is perfect for a long walk in the Autumn-Winter months. In the summer the lake transforms into a festival hot spot, with the 3 week long Lake Festival- a spectacular programme of music and entertainment along the shores of the lake!
