Fly to Dusseldorf

Relax on the River Rhine

Germany’s seventh-biggest city has fashioned an enviable name for itself in couture, banking, and beer, beer and more beer in the bar-lined Aldstadt - the Old Town. The area has so many drinking establishments, Germans call it “the longest bar in the world”. To drink like a local, try the traditional, hoppy Altbier. But distinctive ale is only one of Düsseldorf’s attractions.

Many international ‘starchitects’ have...

... created remarkable buildings here (architecture buffs will appreciate the legendary Frank Gehry’s Neue Zollhof), literally heightening the vibrant buzz that comes with the energetic nightlife and an art scene that’s right up there with Europe’s best.

Take a relaxing stroll to the harbour – and its restaurants and bars – and enjoy memorable views over the water. Venture onto the water on a Rhine River cruise or explore on dry land with a hop-on hop-off bus tour around this thoroughly cosmopolitan city. Go shopping for luxuries in the Königsallee canal-side boulevard or visit the fascinating Schloss Benrath rococo castle.  Enthralling museums and galleries, concerts modern and classical, lively cafes and theatres all make for an enjoyable trip, any time of year.
