Flights to Düsseldorf

Famous for fashion, banking, beer and a bar-lined Altstadt (Old Town), Düsseldorf is filled with boundary-pushing architecture, exciting nightlife and an art scene to rival many popular European cities. For a fantastic view of the city and a pleasant walk any time of year, head to the harbour, where you’ll find plenty of bars and restaurants overlooking the water, where you can sample some traditional German Beer.

With plenty of attractions for adults and children alike, there’s something for everyone in Düsseldorf!

Fly to Düsseldorf direct from Glasgow

Königsallee is a luxury shopping boulevard either side of the canal, with every premium brand you can imagine from Chanel to Tiffany and Co. For most people it’s a great place to do some window shopping, soak up the ambiance and take some photos of the canal and bridges.

For a shopping experience minus the exclusive pricetag head down to Schadowstraße. here you will find an array of department stores and high street brands.

Public Parks

The Hofgarten is the first public park in Düsseldorf, it opened in 1769. The park is an interesting place to take a stroll due to the many historic monuments and artwork dotted around.

The Rhine Tower

The Rheinturm towers 240.5 metres above the city and has spectacular views across the city. The tower has both an indoor viewing platform and a revolving restaurant! You won’t miss anything, because the restaurant does a full rotation in 72 minutes.

If drinks closer to the ground is more your thing head to Altstadt where you will find 5 microbreweries, over 300 pubs, bars and clubs. No wonder the area is known as the ‘longest bar in the world’.

Düsseldorf is home to Wildpark Grafenberger Im Wald, a wild park home to 100 species of German native animals. The park is set in a 200-year-old forest and has a play park for children.

Boat Tours

See the Theodor Heuss Bridge from a different perspective, whilst cruising under it, along the river Rhine. One area best viewed from the water is the Medienhafen – boat tours give you a spectacular view of the upcoming district and its modern architecture.

Christmas Markets

Dusseldorf is home to over 10 different Christmas markets, showcasing the best of German gifts, food and drink. Each with their own personality, you will find the perfect place to spend your weekend in a winter wonderland.

Be it during Carnival, the biggest fun fair on the Rhine, the cart-wheeling tournament or the Christmas market, there’s always something happening in Düsseldorf, year round!
