The Gateway to the Jutland Peninsula
Esbjerg Market Square is the perfect place to sip coffee and watch the world go by after hitting the shops in Denmark’s largest shopping precinct. The centre for performing arts is just minutes away too, where you can enjoy great local acts of all varieties.
Esbjerg is also home to to the imposing “Men at Sea” situated at Saedding beach – located on pristine Danish coastline with white sandy beaches. Overlooking the North Sea, with an isolated position, these sculptures seem even more imposing than they otherwise would have been, especially considering the sheer scale of this unique landmark. It is certainly a sight to see and whilst not a wonder of the world, it is certainly a European wonder that should be visited at least once.
Esbjerg is also the gateway to the rest of the Jutland peninsula – whereby you can find windmills, colourful houses and white sand beaches. Or, if you prefer something totally different for all the family – why not visit Billund? The home of Legoland. Located just one hour away from Esbjerg, you can be astonished by whole towns and villages made of Lego. This unique attraction is not just for children but something the whole family can marvel at.
