The city was twice awarded the title of the United Kingdom's City of Culture, Derry~Londonderry has a lot to offer, in addition to its location at the heart of the Causeway Coastal Route and Wild Atlantic Way. Giant’s Causeway
City of Derry Airport is the closest gateway to Northern Ireland’s first UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Giant’s Causeway. Some call this remarkable stone formation the Eighth Wonder of the World – it is a unique display of 40,000 interlocking basalt columns as a result of an ancient volcanic action 60 million years ago. City of Derry Airport is just a 50 minutes drive from this National Trust experience located along the North Antrim Coast.

This is the only remaining completely walled city in Ireland and one of the finest examples of Walled Cities in Europe. The City Walls were built during the period 1613-1618 by the honourable, the Irish Society as defences for early seventeenth century settlers from England and Scotland and it really is a feature to see.
