The cold months leading up to Christmas get you thinking about all the mulled wine and festive foods, and what better way to experience these than to head to a Christmas Market this December? Grab your warmest coat and a pair of gloves and head over to one of the Christmas Markets we think are worth a visit! With Christmas Markets being cancelled last year (due to obvious reasons that we’d rather not mention), the excitement is even bigger than ever. We have a few ideas where you can experience all the festive cheer this year!


With Birmingham's Frankfurt Christmas Market, you won’t have to travel to Germany this year, the festive country will come to you! Birmingham’s market is the largest authentic German Christmas market outside of Germany or Austria. With traditional foods and drinks, such as, schnitzels, pretzels, bratwursts, Gluhwein or Weissbier, Birmingham’s market is a great way to celebrate this festive season with a taste of Frankfurt. This festive event will also have live music at Victoria Square and handcrafted gifts and decorations. Eat some delicious food, sip some warm drinks, buy gifts for loved ones and enjoy the joyful atmosphere.. can’t get better than that! The festive event will be happening in Victoria Square and New Street from the 4th of November until the 23rd of December.

Edinburgh Christmas Market is one of the most visited festive events all over Scotland. Joyful atmosphere seekers from around the world travel to Scotland to see the spectacular vibes brought about by the marvellous attractions all over the city. The Christmas Market is located in East Princes Street Gardens and will be running from the 20th of November until the 4th of January, with various events happening throughout the month. Edinburgh has more than just food and craft stalls (don’t get us wrong, we do love some warm scran!). It also offers fun attractions for the entire family to enjoy. From rides on the Big Wheel to ice skating, Edinburgh will get you in the Christmas spirit!

Liverpool’s Christmas Market will be open from the 12th of November to the 23rd of December. Whilst still being in the city centre, the market will be in a slightly different location this year. With over 40 stalls, festive entertainment, as well as live music, this is the perfect event to visit with family and friends. A delicious range of food and drinks such as German sausages, Yorkshire pudding wraps, and hot chocolate will be filling the air with incredible aromas, making you want to give each one a try! For adults, the windmill bar, the ski bar and the cosy tipi bar are back, and with the addition of the Bavarian bar which will be serving various German beers. For children, there will be festive rides, as well as games stalls and for the more adventurous, there will be a snow slide and the famous big wheel.

The Cardiff Christmas Market is open from the 11th of November to the 23rd of December and is located around the main shopping areas in Cardiff City Centre. Last year, the Christmas Market in Cardiff mainly took place online so that exhibitors still had the chance to sell their products. However, this year the event will be bigger and better, with a mix of both new and returning exhibitors. Vendors will be selling products along the likes of jewellery, handmade ceramics, scented candles, and even flavoured gins! There will also be a wide variety of seasonal food and drinks stalls for you to indulge in throughout the day. With such a vibrant atmosphere and an extensive range of stalls, Cardiff Christmas Market is not one to miss out on this year!
