Children and Infants
Children love to fly, and Loganair is always pleased to welcome them on board. Our ground and cabin staff are trained to help young people - and those flying with them - to enjoy their flight. Loganair hopes the following information will help put your mind at ease when planning a trip with young children.
Travelling with infants
Flights within Scotland (and flights to/from Norway)
Infants, who have not reached their second birthday and are carried on
their parent's lap, do not pay an air fare, though taxes are applicable
at some of the airports Loganair serves.
An infant aged between 6 months and under 2 years, may be carried in their
own rear facing, approved car seat, though a child fare will apply for the
booked seat. Loganair does not provide car seats.
Cross Border Flights (ie flights to/from Dundee, and Isle of Man)
Infants are charged 12% of the adult fare, and any applicable taxes..
Young Children
Flights within Scotland (and flights to/from Norway)
Children aged between 2 and 11 inclusive, travelling with their parents, will receive a 33% discount on the appropriate fare (taxes/fees/charges are not discounted)
Cross Border Flights (ie flights to/from Dundee, and Isle of Man)
Child discount is not applicable on cross border routes.
Young Children Travelling Solo
Loganair allows children to travel unaccompanied, though all arrangements should be made in advance. The child must be at least 5 years of age. They should be escorted until the flight departs, and an escort must meet the child at the airport of arrival. Unaccompanied minors will not be accepted on any multi sector bookings or connecting flights as carriers are unable to take responsibility in the case of a missed connection or extended delay.
You will be asked to complete an unaccompanied minor form either at the time of booking, or at check-in.
Loganair's ground and cabin staff will do their utmost to ensure your family has an enjoyable flight. On arrival at the airport, our ground staff will be on hand to give you extra help if you need it, and families with small children will be invited to board first.
On 'cross border' flights (ie flights to/from Dundee, and Isle of Man), an unaccompanied minor charge will apply.
