Loganair Announces a reduction in fares
Loganair is pleased to announce that all fares on its Highlands and Islands routes will be reduced by an average of £4 per one way journey for all bookings made from 12 November 2008.
With the dramatic rise in fuel prices earlier this year, Loganair was regrettably left with no option other than to increase its fares. The changes announced today reverse in full the most recent fare increase that was announced in May this year.
David Harrison, CEO of Loganair, said: "The price of oil in dollars has fallen substantially over the past couple of months. While the benefits to airlines have been partially offset by the effects of hedging and a weaker pound, Loganair is pleased to announce that we will be reducing our fares for the benefit of our passengers."
As fares on Public Service Obligation routes were not increased earlier this year in relation to fuel price increases, this announcement does not affect the fares on these routes.
