"Operating as Flybe"

FlyBE and Loganair Q&A

6th August 2008

Frequently asked questions relating to Flybe franchise

1. Have Flybe bought Loganair?
No, Loganair are becoming a Flybe franchise partner and therefore will operate using the Flybe livery and brand, similar to the relationship they had with British Airways. Loganair remains privately owned.
2. What changes will we see?
From 26th Oct the aircraft will change to Flybe livery, the staff, cabin crew and check in areas etc will be in the Flybe brand. Passengers wishing to travel after the 26th Oct will need to book on www.flybe.com or www.flybe.com/ads or through their local travel agent. The customer call centre number will be 0871 700 2000.
3. Will the Air Discount Scheme be affected?
Not at all, the Air Discount Scheme is a Government run scheme that the airline participates in and therefore will continue to be offered through Flybe. This can be booked on www.flybe.com/ads or through your local travel agent.
4. Will the fares be changing?
Loganair will continue to be responsible for their fares and therefore control their own tariffs. There are no plans to change the fares however we continually monitor the situation. We will continue to offer a number of attractive low fares throughout our locations. Passengers registered with the Air Discount Scheme will continue to benefit by further reductions off all fares.
5. What will the luggage allowance be?
There is no intention to change the luggage allowance from the existing 20kgs that passengers currently receive when travelling on Loganair operated services. The greater allowance of 23kgs is given when passengers are connecting directly on to a British Airways service to London or beyond and this will continue. For passengers connecting to Flybe services, not operated by Loganair, the luggage allowance will be 30kgs if passengers have an Economy Plus ticket. However Flybe's own baggage charges will apply for the onward flight. Please see www.flybe.com for details.

6. What about excess baggage?

If there is the requirement to travel with more than the 20kgs allowance Loganair will only charge £10 for any additional piece and/or £10 for the one piece over 20kgs. Please note that excess baggage is only carried subject to space being available and is not guaranteed.

7. Will we need photographic ID and why?

Yes, from 26th Oct everyone will require photographic ID to travel. Flybe, like many airlines, require passengers to have photographic ID.
However in order to make this as easy as possible we have teamed up with Citizencard, a UK recognised provider of photographic ID, to offer photo ID for £5 (normally £10). Application forms will be available in Highlands and Islands airports, travel agents, doctor\'s surgeries and various council locations.

For other acceptable forms of ID please visit http://www.flybe.com/flightInfo/1checkin.htm.

8. Will Loganair have any relationship with BA?
Loganair will be retaining a code share arrangement with BA in order to offer a through ticketing service for passengers wishing to travel with British Airways to London and beyond to worldwide destinations. These can be booked on Ba.com or through your local travel agent.
9. What will happen to the BA Executive Club?
As we will no longer be a British Airways franchise partner we are unable to participate in their loyalty schemes. Passengers will only be able to earn points for travelling on British Airways through services to London and beyond, however passengers will not be able to redeem their points to travel on the Flybe services operated by Loganair.
10. What alternative scheme will be available?
Flybe have an excellent scheme called Rewards4All.
This is open to everyone and people can join at www.flybe.com. You can earn points for free flights or passes for lounge access. Please take a look at the pages in Flybe.com to familiarise yourself with this.
11. What is an Economy Plus ticket?
Economy Plus is the equivalent of a full fare (from 26th Oct); this offers passengers greater flexibility with a ticket that is valid for up to 12 months, complimentary changes to the times and dates of flights, lounge access where there is a lounge available (this includes Inverness, Aberdeen, Glasgow and Edinburgh), complimentary advanced seat assignment and a greater luggage allowance of 30kgs for connecting passengers.
