LOGANAIR PASSENGERS GET 50% DISCOUNT UNDER UNIQUE DEAL WITH CITIZENCARD
Scotland's leading airline today announced a unique deal with CitizenCard, giving customers a 50% discount on the UK-wide photographic identification that can be used to board flights.
As part of their commitment to delivering a quality service, Loganair has joined forces with the UK's best known ID organisation to offer customers a CitizenCard for £5 instead of the usual £10 charge.
The move comes in advance of Loganair's decision to introduce compulsory photographic ID on all its flights from October 26th - the start of its new franchise deal with Flybe.
As a result of the deal, passengers travelling on any Loganair-operated flight will be able to use the CitizenCard as official photographic ID to board their plane.
Susan Blacklaw, Sales and Marketing Manager for Loganair, said: "This is the ideal opportunity for Loganair customers to take advantage of the great discounted deal that is now on offer with CitizenCard.
"From the end of October all Loganair passengers will need to show photographic ID before they board their flight and a CitizenCard is the cheapest and easiest alternative for anyone who doesn't currently own a passport or driving licence."
She added: "At Loganair we are always striving to provide passengers with the best possible service and by joining forces with CitizenCard, we are delighted that our customers will get access to the UK's best known ID at half the usual cost."
Susan teamed up with CitizenCard representative Nigel Catlow to launch the initiative and Nigel marked the occasion by presenting Susan with her own version of card.
Application forms are now available in airports, doctors' surgeries, some council offices throughout Highlands and Islands and selected travel agents. Alternatively it can be downloaded from www.loganair.co.uk.
Nigel Catlow, spokesman for CitizenCard, said: "This is a fantastic arrangement with Loganair as it offers passengers the opportunity to get a CitizenCard at half the usual price.
"All Loganair passengers can now plan ahead and get the necessary photo ID for travel after October at a fraction of the cost of buying a passport or getting a driving licence."
Andrew Chevis, CEO of CitizenCard, said: "CitizenCard is a not-for-profit organisation which was introduced in 1999 to provide proof of age and identity. It is available to everyone and is audited by the Trading Standards Institute.
"There are currently 1.75million cards in circulation across the UK and they are currently accepted by supermarkets, banks, off-licences, pubs, clubs, newsagents, convenience stores, gaming centres and cinemas throughout the UK."
The following forms of photographic ID will also be accepted by Flybe on all Loganair-operated flights from October 26: EU / Swiss ID card, armed forces ID card, police warrant card / badge, firearms certificate, electoral ID card, NUS card, university / college card and senior citizens bus pass.
