"Operating as Flybe"

Extra Shetland Flights

2nd November 2010

Flybe franchise carrier Loganair has added extra Sunday flights on its Aberdeen-Sumburgh route in the run-up to Christmas in response to high demand for flights.

The additional services will operate on Sundays 28 November, 5 December and 12 December where the airline is already reporting strong advance bookings on its existing schedule of flights.   The extra services will leave Aberdeen at 12:50, arriving in Sumburgh at 13:55.    Return flights will leave Sumburgh at 14:25 and arrive in Aberdeen at 15:25.    These complement Loganair’s core schedule of three roundtrip flights every Sunday during the winter season.

“It’s clear that many people have already booked pre-Christmas trips to Aberdeen – presumably to take advantage of the fantastic shopping deals on offer – but we expect that many more people will still want to book,” said Loganair’s Commercial Director Jonathan Hinkles.    “In order to make sure that we provide seats to enable as many passengers as possible to travel at their preferred times, we’ve added extra Sunday flights for three weeks.”

The additional services will be on sale today via www.flybe.com and through travel agents.    The Air Discount Scheme rebate will be available as usual on the extra flights.
