Isle of Man

A change of air will do you good

The Isle of Man is a unique destination with over 10,000 years of history, its own currency, stamps, native tongue and mile upon mile of unspoilt countryside and secluded beaches, yet less than 130 miles from central Scotland.

Set in the Irish Sea, the island measures just 33 miles by, but within these shores there is such a wealth of discoveries to be made. Experience the peace and tranquility of coastal and mountain glens, the vistas along a hundred miles of spectacular coastline embracing expansive sands, attractive resorts, bustling harbours and dramatic headlines, or become enchanted by the sights, sounds and tales of this medieval gem of an island.

A visit is also a voyage of discovery; an opportunity to learn a little about the fascinating, and sometimes turbulent, past of this Island, much influenced by the Celts and Vikings over the centuries. All over the Island you'll find intriguing evidence of the Island's culture and history... Celtic crosses, ancient Viking burial grounds and medieval fortresses.

While on the Island you will discover the world's largest operational water wheel, the Lady Isabella, one of the finest Victorian theatres in Douglas, transport systems designed and built by visionary Victorians and still fully operational after more than a century of public service, plus a wealth of thrilling motorsports events, including the T.T. for which the Island is world famous.

But wherever you happen to be in the Isle of Man you'll always be aware of a uniquely warm Manx welcome.

Flybe scheduled flights, operated by Loganair Ltd, link the Isle of Man with Edinburgh, Glasgow and Norwich.
