2007 is a significant year for Loganair as it marks the milestone of 40 years of operating the InterIsland Air Service in Orkney.
Since 1967, Loganair has served the North Isles of Orkney in several capacities, namely providing a lifeline service between the Isles and the Capital City of Kirkwall also providing an air ambulance service between the islands and the mainland. In the summer months offering tourists an opportunity to fly over the Orkney islands and to witness for themselves the breathtaking land and sea scapes.
As a celebration of this milestone, Loganair has teamed up with the World’s most Northerly Whisky Distillery, Highland Park, to offer a series of 40 Private Charters throughout the Spring and summer season.
Highland Park, the producer of the now World famous Orkney whisky label, is also celebrating with the co branding of its logo on 2 of the BN2 islander aircraft.
With a cumulative figure of 40 years flying experience between our 3 Loganair InterIsland Pilots, we certainly have something to celebrate.

We are offering 3 different Charter Routes:
Northern Isles Scenic Charter
This one hour charter flight incorporates the Orkney Mainland and the North Isles of Orkney. Such famous Orcadian landmarks as Scapa Flow, Flotta Oil Terminal, Lochs of Stenness and Harray, the Ring of Brodgar, and the beautiful beaches of Sanday are easily visible from the aircraft.
The islands of Rousay, Westray, Papa Westray, Eday and Shapinsay and Sanday are all part of this very scenic and captivating charter. In season, an abundance of wildlife such as seals and wild bird colonies are very easily visible from the air.
Northern Isles Scenic Charter and Old Man of Hoy
This one hour Charter departs Kirkwall over the west mainland of Orkney and flies along the coastline of Orkney’s most dramatic island, Hoy. Stunning views of the rock pinnacle The Old Man of Hoy, Rackwick Bay and the Ward Hill are visible before proceeding northwards to incorporate the main Islands that compile the North Isles of Orkney.
The Worlds Shortest Scheduled Flight
The 2 minute flight between Westray and Papa Westray in the Orkneys is the worlds shortest scheduled flight. Fly from Kirkwall around the North Isles and land in Westray or Papa Westray. Then fly the shortest scheduled route and on your return to Kirkwall you will be presented with a certificate to show that you have travelled on the world’s shortest schedule, and have your photograph taken with the pilot.
Highland Park Distillery
Incorporated in the Charter Tour is an optional visit to the world famous Highland Park Distillery and visitors centre. The Distillery can deliver you to the airport at Kirkwall (subject to location) and after your charter can transport you the distillery for a VIP Tour. TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Charters are available from 1 – 8 passengers.
A deposit of 25% of the agreed total charter cost is required at the time of reservation.
The full charter fee must be paid at least 14 days prior to the charter departure date.
Loganair will only cancel charter flights if the Pilot deems that weather conditions are detrimental to safe flying conditions. In such unlikely circumstances, a full refund will be given.
Passengers may only bring baggage of 6kgs per passenger. Any additional baggage must be pre approved by Loganair and baggage surcharges may apply.
Passengers must arrive at Kirkwall airport a minimum of 20 minutes before the appointed charter departure time.Your Safety
All charter flights are conducted under the Civil Aviation Authority regulations.
All aircraft are maintained to a standard as laid down by the Civil Aviation Authority.
Each aircraft carries a passenger insurance of One million pounds.
Our Aircraft
We operate 3 Brit Norman Islander Aircraft. Each aircraft has 8 seats with an optional 9th seat depending on load.
Prices
Charter costs start at £51 per person based on an aircraft of 8 passengers. If the Highland park VIP tour is incorporated, the starting price is £ 71 per person. Definitive quotations will be provided upon request based on passenger numbers and Charter route selected.
