Competition to become a member of Loganair’s cabin crew is tough, and it is far from a glamorous job. As the sole member of cabin crew on our Saab 340 aircraft, your prime role is the safety of Loganair’s passengers, therefore you should be able to handle pressure, as well as being confident and enthusiastic, and have a genuine interest in dealing with people. What are our specific requirements for cabin crew recruitment?

  • Between 1.57m (5’2”) and 1.83m (6’) in height with weight in proportion.
  • Have normal vision (contact lenses acceptable)
  • Have a good standard of education and fluent in spoken English.
  • Able to swim.
  • Have previous customer service experience.
  • Hold a full clean driving licence.

What is our recruitment process for Cabin Crew?

  • An offer of employment is subject to both passing a medical examination and obtaining satisfactory references

How long is the training period?

There is an intensive 5-week training course. This incorporates a 3-week ground school course including first aid, fire fighting, safety and emergency procedures and customer service. There will be exams on these subjects throughout the course. Subject to successful completion of the ground school course you will then undertake 2 weeks of in-flight training where you will operate as a cabin crew member closely monitored by one of our experienced trainers.

What are the main duties involved in the position of cabin crew?

  • Ensuring the safety and comfort of our passengers at all times
  • All duties associated with in-flight service
  • Taking care of passengers with special needs, young, elderly or disabled
  • Checks with the safety equipment
  • Deliver exceptional customer service, be courteous, civil patient and present an impeccable image at all times
  • Health & Safety: Cabin crew must be capable of actioning any safety and emergency procedures as laid down in our Operations manual. To attend passengers who become ill or have minor accidents in flight.

What can you expect to earn?

A very respectable salary. There’s a competitive basic salary with a daily flying allowance plus an allowance for being away from home overnight.

Where are Loganair cabin crew based?

Loganair’s main base for cabin crew is at Glasgow airport with a small base of cabin crew at Aberdeen airport and at Edinburgh airport.

What type of employment contract will you be given?

If successful you will be on a permanent contract with a probationary period of three months.

What hours do the cabin crew work?

A roster is given to you in advance with the following months duties on it. Our earliest shift starts at 05:35 and our latest finishes at 21:30. Many of our shifts involve weekend work as well as over night stops at Inverness and Kirkwall.
